Professor Jodie Dodd is a clinical academic Obstetrician, Medical Director of Women’s and Babies Division, Maternal Fetal Medicine subspecialist, current NHMRC Investigator Fellow at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Adelaide and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. She is the current Chair of the SA Maternal, Neonatal and Gynaecology Community of Practice.
Jodie is a recognised leader in randomised trials of dietary and lifestyle interventions to reduce the impact of overweight and obesity on pregnancy, birth and child outcomes including the LIMIT Trial. This study included over 2000 women, pregnancy birth and child outcomes have been completed with the latest child follow up at 8-10 years of age. This body of work demonstrating that whilst improvements can be made in diet quality and physical activity, gestational weight gain and pregnancy, birth and child outcomes are not improved.
