Dr Sally Martin is a Senior Research Officer at the Queensland Brain Institute, within the University of Queensland. After completing a BSc in biochemistry at the University of Manchester (1989) and a Ph.D. at the University of London (1993), she joined the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK, as a postdoctoral researcher before moving to the University of Queensland in 1994. She has a long-standing interest in understanding the molecular machinery and mechanisms underlying the regulation of metabolism in adipocytes. She has established an international reputation in the field of lipid droplet cell biology and the regulation of lipolysis, including an invitation to speak at the first ever FASEB summer conference on lipid storage.
