Professor Cliona Ni Mhurchu directs a programme of research in public health nutrition and is recognised internationally for her expertise in population dietary interventions. Her key areas of interest are nutrition labelling, nutrient profiling, food pricing (health-related food and beverage taxes), and technologies to support dietary change. Cliona is Director of the 5-year HRC-funded "Dietary Interventions: Evidence & Translation" (DIET) research programme, and Deputy Director of the Healthier Lives National Science Challenge. She is a member of the New Zealand Health Star Rating (HSR) Advisory Group and Food Standards Australia New Zealand Social Sciences & Economics Advisory Group.
