- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
Nada obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in 2010 at the University of Adelaide with a major in Physiology. She then went on to complete her Honours degree within the Nerve-Gut Research Laboratory supervised by Dr. Richard L Young, where she was awarded First Class for her project addressing the molecular mechanisms of carbohydrate malabsorption in critical illness. In 2012 she commenced her PhD in the Discipline of Medicine, University of Adelaide under the supervision of Dr. Young, Dr. Tanya Little, and Professor Christine Feinle-Bisset. Her project will investigate the role of sweet, and fatty acid taste receptors in the gut, their role in nutrient sensing, and how they may be dysregulated in type 2 diabetes and obesity respectively. Her PhD is unique in its translational approach, investigating molecular mechanisms by utilising basic science techniques, while also engaging in human clinical studies.
