Dr. Gade Waqa has established herself as a leading expert on obesity and non-communicable disease (NCDs) focusing on food policy and knowledge translation. Dr. Waqa is the Head of C-POND (Pacific Research Centre for the Prevention of Obesity and NCDs), at the Fiji Institute for Pacific Health Research at the College of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences, Fiji National University. Prior to this, Dr Waqa was an Assistant Professor, and provides regular teaching with Masters of Public Health in NCDs at the School of Public Health and Primary Care and also team-teach into the Community Medicine of the MBBS programme.
