Charmaine is an NHMRC Early Career Fellow at the University Sydney. Her research largely focused on understanding the development of obesity and associated metabolic complications in humans at the whole body level and in adipose tissue and skeletal muscle Her broad research areas are investigating the role inflammation and extracellular matrix remodelling in the development of diabetes and understanding the physiology behind weight loss surgery.
