I am a 28 year old PhD student from Denmark. In 2011 I graduated as a master in Psychology from University of Copenhagen. I am employed by the University of Copenhagen where I am working on my PhD project concerning psychological aspects of bariatric surgery, which is supervised by Prof. Erik Lykke Mortensen and Prof. Flemming Dela. The project has a prospective study design with four follow-ups and more than 100 bariatric patients. At each follow-up, I assess different psychological factors including personality, mental health, health-related quality of life, body image, life style and social background. My main areas of interest are therefore bariatric surgery, psychology, obesity and treatment of obesity. I am currently on a research stay in Sydney visiting Dr. Evelyn Smith at the University of Sydney and University of New South Wales, who will also be my supervisor while I am abroad.
