Dr Hayley O'Neill is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Metabolic Medicine research group headed by A/Prof Jon Whitehead at Mater Research located at the Translational Research Institute in Brisbane. Her previous research focused on skeletal muscle physiology and the regulation of lipid and glucose metabolism during exercise and in obesity and insulin resistance. Her current research focuses on adipocyte biology and the influence of secreted factors on insulin sensitivity, as well as identifying and characterising novel regulators of adipogenesis. These studies will further our understanding on how dyregulations in these processes contribute to metabolic disease.
