Dr. Evelyn Wong is a PhD candidate at the Obesity and Population Health Unit, Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne. Evelyn completed her MBBS(Hons) in 1997 and subsequently worked as a hospital medical officer until 2002 before intermitting her medical career due to family commitments. A long held interest in public health led Evelyn to complete a Master of Public Health in 2006. Evelyn commenced her PhD part-time in July 2010 and her thesis aims to analyse the impact of current obesity and diabetes trends on the burden of disability in our ageing population.
